  1. @abbeyyung reviewing Tangle Teezer Ultimate Styler at 08:03 in a YouTube Shorts video
    • It was the roughest on my hair. It pulled the most hair out, it broke the most hair strands. It was honestly kind of hurt7:36
    • I personally would not recommend this brush unless you are somebody that has very coarse resistant hair8:03
    • The bristles are actually pretty tightly packed
    • The base of the bristle, like from about halfway down, does not budge. It's very firm and very stiff7:08
    • There are no boar bristles mixed into this7:21
  2. @abbeyyung reviewing FHI Heat Unbrush at 10:01 in a YouTube Shorts video
    FHI Heat$18.00
    • The bristles are significantly more flexible than the Tangle Teaser, I will give them that9:55
    • The material of these bristles is very rough and hard, especially compared to a lot of these other brushes10:01
    • This ripped my hair out
    • It caught on my tangles and then the rougher material meant that it wasn't very forgiving and pulled my hair out11:35
    • I wouldn't recommend it if those things are true for you11:51
  3. @abbeyyung reviewing Tangle Teezer Ultimate Detangler at 12:47 in a YouTube Shorts video
    • The bristles are definitely bendier and more flexible than the styler12:19
    • It is significantly better for me than the ultimate Styler12:47
    • When I compare how much hair breaks off while I brush when I'm using this versus my favorite brushes in this video, there is a noticeable difference for me12:49
  4. @abbeyyung reviewing Tangle Teezer The Original Detangler at 13:36 in a YouTube Shorts video
    • Out of all of these brushes I just reviewed, this one is definitely the most gentle13:32
    • These bristles are even gentler and even bendier than this detangler right here13:36
    • If you are interested in a brush that is set up like this in terms of the bristles, you don't want the boar bristles, then I think that this is the gentlest option13:50
  5. @abbeyyung reviewing Wet Brush Original Detangler at 14:32 in a YouTube Shorts video
    Wet Brush$10.99
    • It has ball tipped bristles which for a lot of people might be a problem14:27
    • I like how widely spaced the bristles are and I like the fact that the bristles are super flexible14:32
    • It still doesn't have any boar bristles which I think is why this pulls on my hair so much more than the brushes that do14:38
    • I still think it's just a bit too rough when there are so many other gentler options14:48
  6. @abbeyyung reviewing Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion Supreme at 16:16 in a YouTube Shorts video
    • The nylon pins are incredibly flexible they're a thin kind of like soft bendy material15:52
    • The Olivia Garden brush is definitely more tightly packed the bristles are closer together and I think that is why my hair ended up catching on this more16:16
    • I do have a way better experience with this than the ultimate Styler or the unbrush16:37
    • I don't think it's a bad brush if your hair is somewhere like in between not super fragile and damaged16:42
  7. @abbeyyung reviewing Wet Brush Pro Shine Enhancer at 18:15 in a YouTube Shorts video
    Wet Brush$12.99
    • The bristles are more widely spaced
    • This is still a brush that I recommend when people ask for an affordable option that they can just pick up at the drugstore18:07
    • I loved this while I was using it. I felt like it made such a difference compared to other things like the unbrush18:15
    • I do think that there are even better options than this
  8. @abbeyyung reviewing Mason Pearson Bristle & Nylon Hairbrush BN1 at 21:26 in a YouTube Shorts video
    • The reason why this brush is so hyped up and supposed to be like magic for your hair is because of all the reasons we just talked about it has the boar bristles it has the nylon pins it's nicely spaced
    • The pins are super super flexible
    • The tip end of the pins are actually slightly rounded like they're tapered so they're not just flat across
    • I have less breakage it's gentler on my hair that felt like a huge game changer for me
    • Do I love this brush yes do I think it's great yes do I think that you need to buy it at $275 knowing that there are other options that are much more affordable no
    • It really is an incredible brush21:36
    • It is by far the most expensive brush in this video21:26
    • I don't think that the quality right here like of the handle of the base reflects that price at all like nothing about this feels Lux to me21:15
    • It lasts them years and years and years like I'm talking 20 plus years22:09
    • My favorite brush out of all 16 of these
    • This gives me the perfect combination of everything that I've been talking about the detangling the gentleness all of that
  9. @abbeyyung reviewing Misel Professional Boar Bristle Hair Brush at 24:32 in a YouTube Shorts video
    • These bristles are so frayed it's not holding up24:29
    • This is the type of thing you would need to repurchase relatively quickly24:32
    • The bristles on this are honestly just like too bendy so you don't get that detangling effect that you get with Mason Pearson24:38
  10. @abbeyyung reviewing Shash Boar Bristle & Nylon Hair Brush at 24:56 in a YouTube Shorts video
    SHASH$65.95
    • I don't think this is bad I just don't think that you will love it if you are looking for something that gives you the exact same kind of results as Mason Pearson24:49
    • They're just a bit too bendy I'm not getting the same detangling benefit24:56
    • I also don't think the quality is as good with this one either25:03
  11. @abbeyyung reviewing Ion Professional Boar & Nylon Cushion Brush at 25:27 in a YouTube Shorts video
    ion$11.99
    • You get a closer brushing experience to the Mason Pearson with this one25:18
    • The bristles are super flexible and would feel softer if it were not for the way that they just cut off at the top25:27
    • This is just flat it's sharp it feels very pokey and uncomfortable while I'm using it25:36
    • For $1.99 if you are looking for something that is comparable to Mason Pearson this would be the one to go for over some of the others25:45
  12. @abbeyyung reviewing Denman D81L Style and Shine Brush at 26:09 in a YouTube Shorts video
    • These bristles are so bendy that I feel like I don't get quite as good detangling with it as I do with Mason Pearson26:01
    • I think it just takes me a little bit more work to brush through my hair when using this but it gets the job done26:09
    • For being $30 compared to something like $275, I think that this is a really solid option26:15
  13. @abbeyyung reviewing Rock & Ruddle Hairbrush at 26:45 in a YouTube Shorts video
    • The issue I have with the Rock & Ruddle brush is honestly the size, like compared to Mason Pearson you can see it's significantly smaller26:28
    • The bristles have a really good amount of flexibility and I feel like I get similar detangling and gentleness to the Mason Pearson brush with this26:45
    • These definitely just feel a bit sharper than Mason Pearson26:57
    • It's definitely a great brush27:08
    • I love the fact that you have a ton of different options for the paddle color. I got pink glitter27:10
  14. @abbeyyung reviewing Kent Classic Shine Mixed Bristle Hair Brush at 27:30 in a YouTube Shorts video
    Kent$48.00
    • This one is also more widely spaced than Rock and Ruddle, more comparable to Mason Pearson in that sense27:21
    • These bristles are very flexible. Unfortunately, these ones feel pretty pokey and sharp to me too27:30
    • I still think it's an excellent brush27:43
    • If you're interested in a brush like this, you want one that is a bit higher quality but you're like, I can't even think about spending over $70 on a brush, then this is one that you may really love27:45
  15. @abbeyyung reviewing Drybar Flat Mate Boar Bristle Brush at 28:23 in a YouTube Shorts video
    Drybar$85.00
    • What I love about this brush is how large it is. It's the most comparable to Mason Pearson in size28:15
    • These bristles compared to all of the high price point brushes are the firmest but not too too firm, so I feel like I get the best detangling with this but it's not too rough on my hair28:23
    • The quality of the bristles here and everything about this brush is definitely there. It's held up really well, the bristles are not fraying at all28:42
    • If you're looking for the option that detangles the best knowing that you'll lose a little bit of gentleness, then I think Drybar is great. I really love this brush28:49
    • Drybar offers the best detangling while being the least gentle of the three, still not like rough on the hair31:32
  16. @abbeyyung reviewing Crown Affair The Brush No. 001 at 29:08 in a YouTube Shorts video
    • This brush is made of handcrafted beechwood29:06
    • I think that this is the most flexible of the high price point options so the most gentle because of that29:08
    • The trade off for that is that the detangling is not quite as good as dry bar29:15
    • The bristles are more widely spaced which I think just makes this even more gentle29:26
    • This is another brush that I use all the time. I feel like I reach for this one most often when my hair is already dry and styled and I just need to brush through like at the end of the night29:37
    • Crown Affair where it's like two steps down from dry bar in terms of detangling but then a couple steps up in terms of how gentle it is31:44
  17. @abbeyyung reviewing Oribe Italian Resin Flat Brush at 30:18 in a YouTube Shorts video
    • This is the brush I was talking about that feels so much more luxe than Mason Pearson and like makes a little bit more sense while you're spending that kind of money30:11
    • This is allegedly a custom designed Italian resin and like you can just tell such a difference in the material30:18
    • Out of all of the brushes I have showed you guys that are potential dupes for Mason Pearson this one has the most boar bristle coverage30:40
    • This is going to be gentler
    • The bristles are perfectly flexible
    • This is something that I reach for all the time because of the fact that it's gentler it is a brush that I love so much it's held up so well over the past few years like zero signs of this being old31:11
